Dr Matthew Hong studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed his specialty urological surgery training in Melbourne and Adelaide. He was awarded a fellowship in Urology by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2019. He gained further sub-specialty training in genito-urethral reconstruction through a fellowship in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Dr Hong holds a PhD through the University of Melbourne for genomic sequencing work in prostate cancer and was part of an international collaboration examining clonal diversity in metastatic prostate cancer.
Dr Matthew Hong consults at the Tennyson Centre (Kurralta Park) and Flinders Private Hospital. He operates at Tennyson Day Hospital, Ashford Hospital and Flinders Private Hospital. He is an Associate Professor at Flinders University and a researcher in bladder and prostate cancer.
Dr Hong is a member of the Urological Society of Australian and New Zealand, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group, the Australian Medical Association, the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the European Association of Urology, the Societe Internationale d’Urologie and the International Society of Reconstructive Urology.
